How to Sell on Tawadoo: Your Guide to Successful Selling in Morocco
Master Fixed-Price, Negotiable, and Auction Listings to Connect with Buyers
More than just a classifieds platform, Tawadoo.ma acts as a powerful tool to connect buyers and sellers, boosting the visibility of your items and services across Morocco.
1 Signing Up
The first step on your journey with Tawadoo is signing up! Make sure you follow all the steps after clicking Sign up. It's best to validate your phone number when you first sign up for better credibility. A valid email is essential to get updates on your listings and messages from potential buyers. We are committed to building a trusted community.
2 Ways of Selling
Become a Seller! It all starts with your first listing. If you're logged in, just click the + Add an Item button, or go to your Dashboard and follow the steps. It's quick, easy, and real-time.
There are three powerful ways to list your items on Tawadoo. Think about the best method for your item: do you have a firm price, are you willing to negotiate, or do you want to host an auction?
Listing Type 1: Normal Listing
If your price is fixed and non-negotiable, this is your best option. Set a fixed price, define the item's location, and specify the best way to reach you. This is the most straightforward way to sell if you aren't looking to negotiate.
Listing Type 2: Accept Offers
Let users make offers on your listings, but maintain control. Accepting offers means your published price is negotiable. To avoid low offers, you can set a minimum acceptable price (which is private to you). You only connect with users whose offers you choose to accept, saving you time as your contact details are only shared after you approve an offer.
What happens if someone makes an offer you accept?
The moment you accept, a notification is sent to the buyer. You can then contact each other directly by phone or through Tawadoo's built-in chat to finalize the deal. Please remember to close the chat and leave a review once the transaction is complete. This helps build community trust, and you'll be rewarded with Tawadoo Coins each time you provide a review!
What happens if the person who made an offer does not respond?
If you've tried contacting the user via our chat with no success, please close the conversation and leave an appropriate review. We will notify the user to remind them about community ethics. Multiple instances of no-shows may lead to the user being banned from our platform.
Listing Type 3: Host an Auction
Let users bid on your items to maximize the potential sales price. An auction often starts with a lower price to attract interest, builds excitement, and encourages competitive bidding. When setting up an auction, you can set a starting price and schedule the start and end dates.
Private vs Public Bids
You will notice options for Private and Public bids. A Private bid is an item visible only to people you invite via a shared link. A Public bid means all users on Tawadoo can see and bid on it.
Important: Once an auction receives its first bid, you can no longer modify the listing. If you list an item in an auction, you are ethically obliged to finalize the sale starting from the minimum price you've set. You only connect with the highest bidder when the auction ends. As soon as you finalize the trade, update the item as sold and leave a review. If the sale falls through, please update the listing so the winner can be refunded their Tawadoo Coins deposit.
What happens if the auction winner does not respond?
If you have tried contacting the winner via Tawadoo chat with no success, close the conversation and leave a review. We will take the necessary steps to notify the user. Multiple instances of no response after winning an auction may lead to the user being banned.
3 Tips for Optimised and Approved Listings
To ensure your listings get approved and attract buyers, you need to craft compelling content. Every element of your listing is a signal to both the platform and potential customers. By optimizing each step, you increase visibility and build trust.
Here's a breakdown of best practices:
๐ฏ Precision in Placement: Choose the Best Category
Think of categories as the main aisles of a store. Listing in the most accurate and specific category is crucial for buyers to find your item. Browsing categories is a common way users navigate, so ensure your item appears where it makes sense.
๐ Pinpoint Your Presence: Update Your Item Location
This is critical. Many buyers filter or search based on location. Accurately setting your item's location ensures your listing appears in relevant local searches. An incorrect location severely limits your visibility.
๐ฐ Price it Right: Research and Set a Fair Price
Pricing is a key factor. Research comparable items on Tawadoo to set a competitive price. This doesn't mean being the cheapest, but being fair for the item's condition.
- Research: Search Tawadoo for similar items in similar condition. See what prices others are asking.
- Consider Condition: Be transparent about wear and tear, age, and any defects, especially for used items.
- Be Realistic: An inflated price will deter buyers. A fair price attracts more interest and leads to a quicker sale.
- Consider Negotiation: You can set a firm price (Normal Listing) or build in room for negotiation (Accept Offers).
๐ One Item, One Listing: Avoid the Bundle Blunder
A fundamental rule is one distinct item per listing. Attempting to list multiple, unrelated items in a single post will likely lead to disapproval. Each item needs its own description, photos, and price.
๐ Detail is Your Friend: Craft Comprehensive Descriptions
A detailed description answers potential buyer questions upfront. Include:
- Key Features: What are the standout aspects?
- Condition: Be honest about wear, defects, or imperfections.
- Dimensions/Size: Provide accurate measurements.
- Brand and Model: If applicable, include this.
- Usage/History: Briefly explain what it's used for or its story (for vintage items).
Leverage AI, Then Refine: Our AI tools can help you write a great title and description. Feel free to use them to start, but *always* edit and fact-check the output to ensure it accurately reflects your item's specifics and condition.
๐ธ A Picture Speaks a Thousand Words: Take Multiple High-Quality Photos
Clear, well-lit photos from various angles are non-negotiable. They are the first thing a buyer sees.
- Good Lighting: Natural light is often best. Avoid harsh shadows.
- Multiple Angles: Show the item from the front, back, sides, top, and any unique features.
- Detail Shots: Capture close-ups of important details, textures, or any imperfections you mentioned.
- Clean Background: A plain, uncluttered background keeps the focus on your item.
๐ Build Trust: Get Your Profile Verified
Verifying your profile, especially by linking your phone number, adds a layer of credibility. Buyers are more likely to trust sellers who have confirmed their identity.
๐ Be Accessible: Include Your Phone Number
While our chat is useful, including your phone number (you can choose to show or hide it) can provide a faster way for serious buyers to reach you.
๐ Increase Visibility: Utilize Boost Options
Use your Tawadoo Coins to boost your listing. This makes it a featured item and helps it rank higher in categories or search results. You can earn Tawadoo Coins by referring friends, watching videos, or spinning the daily lucky wheel in your wallet!
๐ฑ Spread the Word: Share Your Listings
Don't limit your listing's reach. Share it on your social media profiles. This can drive additional traffic from your network.
โก Be Responsive: Answer Messages Quickly
Prompt communication is key. Respond to inquiries from potential buyers as quickly as possible. This shows you are an attentive and serious seller.
๐ Monitor Your Performance: Check Your Dashboard
Your seller dashboard provides statistics on listing views, messages, and offers. Regularly review these to understand how your listing is performing and make adjustments if needed.
By consistently applying these best practices, you can create listings that not only get approved but also stand out, attract interested buyers, and lead to successful sales.
4 My Stores
Elevate Your Business: Create Your Professional Store on Tawadoo
Ready to take your selling to the next level? Create your professional store on Tawadoo and give your business the visibility it deserves! In just a few clicks, you can access a personalized storefront to attract customers and manage your offers.
While listing individual items is great, opening a dedicated store unlocks benefits to elevate your selling efforts and build your brand. Think of it as upgrading from a single stall to having your own dedicated shop.
Key advantages of opening your own store:
๐ช Enhanced Brand Building
A dedicated store showcases your brand identity. You can customize your store page with your logo, banner, and a brand description. This consistency helps buyers recognize your business and fosters trust.
๐ฏ Centralized Showcase
Instead of individual listings scattered across the marketplace, a store brings all your items together in one organized location. This makes it easier for buyers to browse your entire inventory.
โญ Increased Credibility
Having a store signals a higher level of commitment and professionalism compared to a casual seller. This can increase buyer confidence.
๐ Access to Advanced Tools
Tawadoo stores come with features and analytics not available to standard listers, including detailed reports, customer insights, and traffic data to help you optimize your strategy.
In essence, opening a Tawadoo store transforms your selling from a series of individual transactions into a more cohesive and professional endeavor.
